Command to designate heir

Anyone know the right script effect?

I have selected my character. But cant get it to actually designate my son. I tried
set_designated_heir ="id" with "id" (no quotes) being the ID of my son. Parse passes, but I can tell it wont work as it said I will designate "blank" (literally empty space where my sons name should be.)

I know I have the syntax wrong, just not sure what exactly it should be.

Working on this now. I've managed to create a script that changes whose heir is being chosen, but not the person being chosen AS the heir
