Hire the cheapest mercs i can find, send them to join the crusade
Dive into it like Scrooge Mcduck....it wouldn't be a big splash, but I've got dreams.

I can give you a statement that isn't accurate but interesting. Armor for a prince or a king in 1200s could be as high as 400 pounds. If you convert 400 pounds into today standards? That's basically $300,000 US dollars.

Also a dowry for a well to do powerful baron's daughter could have been 1,000 pounds. That is about $800,000 US dollars today. I recall reading Eleanor Talbot's chariot was around 1,000 pounds and this was 1300s I believe? She was sister to the then King of England II.

A nice home with a courtyard was about 100 pounds in 1200s. That is about $74,000 US dollars. Honestly, items such as swords and armor had to be handcrafted by the very best in the country. If it was going to be worn or used by a high ranking noble and it took a long time to craft. So the costs at times out weighed the costs of great many things.

A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse! Usually land was given or bestowed not bought. its hard to place value on such things, if I had to guess some powerful noble's items such as armor and weaponry probably out weighed price of many a baron's keep.

You can't really convert their currency into ours. It just doesn't really work. Their economy's very, very different.
