Can't siege war target, my war is doomed to fail

Hi,

I came upon what seems to be a bug. During a conquest war, I see my war score dropping continuously because "I don't control target objective". The problem is, I can't siege that piece of land, which is, for an unknown reason, already barred out on the map, is if it was already taken. It is "partially" barred out though, as if the "opacity" of the bars was at 50%... if it makes any sense??? Still, the outcome is the same, I can't take it, and the war board indicates that I don't control it. When I click on the county, it says nothing about being controlled by any outsider.

Has anyone encountered that before? Is it a known issue? Is there a way to fix this? Now, I don't really care since it's an ally war, but if that happens in one of my future, massive, decisive war, it would be incredibly frustrating.

Yes I had it happen other day, had to offer white peace. They were in another war and when they accepted demands from other war my war got bugged not allowing me to siege down the territory.

Probably there is an unoccupied castle barony

you might also be allied with the war target. I once was attacking an empire and I was allied with a duke in the kingdom I was trying to take. I still won but I was confused for around an hour in real life.

This happens to me when i dont have enough army/levy (my army is smaller than the garrison)

Thanks for all the answers. I can confirm to you that :
- There is no unoccupied castle or barony. In fact, there's only one domain in that county, the castle that we aim to take.
- I'm not ally with war target
- I have enough troops. 2K army on a 250 garrison. They just stand there and don't start any siege, just as if the territory was mine.

This just happened to me trying to help one of my dukes take wales for me as the emperor of ALBA. I am going to have to surrender despite winning a tough but good war.

This has happened to me in the past in strange situations where I'm somehow allied to the person I'm at war with. I remember it being extremely rare. Something like... I declare war, but then a civil war breaks out and I side with the same side as the guy I'm targeting. If something like that didn't happen, it's surely a bug.
