Domain limit decreased

I had 5/5 domains. Then suddenly I have 5/3. Why did my domain limit decrease?

my guess would be your wife visits another court or you changed her focus.
could also be a culture change and you lost all discoveries connected to domain size.
if you catch certain illnesses your skills will go down
it might be you lost a holy site buff connected to stewardship

Every 5 stewardship gives you 1 extra domain size, so it sounds like youve lost at least 6 points somehow, whether that is from your wife moving out, or dieing, or losing some stats or dieing or something or other.

So if you have 9 you need to try to get it up to 15. Quickest way is to marry a woman with high stewardship, and switching her to manage domain. Or switching the current one

Other ways is to switch to the 3 extra stewardship lifestyle, researching extra domain size, going from duke to king gives an extra 1. Some perks on the stewardship lifestyle give extra.

Tip: if you no longer need new kids, change the spouse finder filter to "all" or "infertile", and marry a seasoned lady with 20+ stewardship.

It's just that normally the spouse finder caps out at 45 years and ignores all otherwise infertile characters, and the old characters near the end of their lives usually have much much better skills.
