Adamism in the UK
Hi reader!

I'm playing an Icelandic campaign at the moment and during a pilgrimage an event popped up that allowed me to convert to Adamism. I looked into it and... Its super freaking strong! You can have women in government, so twice the pool of potentially strong candidates, and polygamy means you can flood your dynasty with babies to quickly accellerate splendour gain. Perhaps most importantly though, since it is still a Jesus-worshipping faith all the Insular Christians still get diplomatic bonuses with you.

Also in spite of being in Iceland, the naked people have yet to take issue with the winters.

That does sound somewhat more scary than the human sacrificing norse people.

A warning about the equality doctrine: you'll now have twice as many heirs fighting for succession, a problem that may multiply with polygamy. Nevertheless, I enjoy it since having both male and female rulers makes it so that all chars are useful and you can switch between patrilinear and matrilinear marriages more easily depending on what you need to do. And if you are still tribal, you just need to conquer enough lands to have duchies to give to your children and all's well.

"strong"? I mean... if you can survive the popes endless crusades to end your heresy, sure.

You should be fine in Iceland, but if you get even a single county in England it won't take long before the pope comes along with half of Europe to kick your arse.
I admit I didn't get far - only about 1050, but the crusades were all targetting south Asia. Nobody seemed to mind the nudist colony in the Orkneys - partly I guess because their chief export was inheritable-trait-laden wives and all the raids were targetting Francia+HRE. I ended up creating a new faith anyway though since the nudity got real old real fast. :P Really I just wanted a non-pacifist faith with gender equality.

The polygamy and equality lead to a bit of a nightmare scenario where you start randomly losing land to foreign nations cause the AI doesn't handle the inheritance is a smart way.
Yeeeeeah... I kinda want to play a strict linear succession faction if only so the game doesn't freak out about who my Player Heir is and ricochet around between various losers I've never heard of every few seconds. :'>

TBH the Adamitism is more like the "comic relief" of CK3. I think it is quite obvious why.

For game mechanics it doesn't bring you anything good, soon large parts of your realm will be inbreds and everyone will have STDs because of the non-existant moral standards and laws.

Also since catholics have little means to expand through war against their fellow believers, having a hostile faith within occidental europe is a direct invitation for a holy war. Because Adamitism is not an ecumenical faith, that is what protects the catholic, insular, orthodox and coptic christians from each other.

And there will be nonstop crusades later on if you can assert your hold on Britannia.

Sounds more like an extra eugenism opportunity by granting titles to guys with good traits, inciting them to breed at maximum rate.
