Ajoun and the Robertine dynasty...need help
I personally think the intrigue game play is the most fun but it also tends be relatively complicated. So in my latest run I sorta managed to assassinate almost every member of the French King's family except for his youngest son and the king himself. I got a fabricated hook on the king and married his son of to my sister (at the time my daughter was already married) So kinda in a roundabout way I installed my cadet branch onto the throne but here is my question to players who used the same start...

how do you manage to install yourself on the throne without war? Even with a pressed claim it seems almost impossible to get a shot at succession, not even for Ajoun's brother Robert, although you can marry him off to the Kings daughter.

Has anyone figured out how to do it?

PS. your court chaplain can technically fabricate claims everywhere. Use this to snag counties inside france and such. This allows you build an army up. You should go then take the meritocracy perk for claim. Go down intrigue to hook other vassals and wait when the king is weak. I did it for the last karling and the robertines.

The easiest way, using the same method here, is to first find a member of the French family that is not first in line and then either marry a daughter, or matrilinealy marry a son and then kill every other child of the family. With this done, the daughter or the matrilinealy married son will be the heir to the French throne, but their children will be your dynasty and you will inherit both France and your own territories once you get to your grandchildren
