[Solved]Achievements not available

I have my game in iron man mode and all the game rules obey the requirements for achievements to be available.

But it still shows that the achievements not available.

Is this a known issue or is this happening only for me? I searched the internet a bit but I couldnt find other people having this same issue.

If you start a game, change no settings and upon picking ironman it says achievements not available it's the mods you have. If it says available then it's settings' most common would be difficulty, only normal works also anything that makes game easier for player disables achievements

The broken trophy icon beside the options are the ones that disables the achievements and I dont have that for any settings and game rules. I am playing on normal difficulty as well.

I think that some patches break achievements without breaking the ironman. I have had a couple of Ironman + Achievement Active games not get any achievements as non of them are listed as available. The only thing that I can attribute it to is that the game updated and deactivated the available achievements on the active game.

I am trying to start a new game and I cant activate achievements for it.

If you're having trouble starting Ironman mode the fastest solution to working out if it's a setting issue, modding issue, or a game bug is to do the following - in these orders.

1: Disable all mods as you said you have no mods, this is a moot issue, but it still has to be mentioned.

2: Start a new game, go to Ruler selection screen.

3: Go into Game Rules upon selecting who to play as, click "Reset to defaults"

- click the word Enable below glove, this is because default is 'Disabled'

If the glove icon shows a green text word says

Ironman - - - - Achievements
Enabled - - - - Available

You're good.

- If you've done the following 3 steps and you're still seeing them disabled, you'll have to.

4: Contact the Development team, ideally with more details of what is precisely happening and answer all questions they have.

How can I contact development team? With steam support?

As you can see in the screenshot everything is fine, but achievements is not enabled and I have unlocked 4 achievements when I played it for a few hours on release and havent touched since. I havent installed new mods or anything.

Mouseover the tooltip of the "not available" info, it should say they are disabled either due to invalid game rules or modified checksum (mods installed or game not up to date)

Just to be really really sure... did you restart the game entirely?

I know that in CK2, just going into the "start game" menu with the world map and ruler selection, then back into the main menu - or loading a game and then back to main menu - would modifiy the checksum for the rest of the session, thus disabling achievements and multiplayer.

Well its fixed after I contacted Paradox customer support and they made me follow these steps:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign - NOT with any existing one

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

I have to mention that I did all of this before and it didnt fix it for me. The step I didnt do before was the windows defender exclusion step and ransomware exception. So, I am guessing new windows defender updates really messed things up.
