Daurama Daura
Does anyone have any advice on playing as Daurama Daura and uniting africa I've been having a hard time doing it for instance her son dying a a few month into his rule causing the player heir a 6 year old with only two counties to have to defend against all his aunts and uncles who are all dukes and hate him because they're all claimants on the kingdom and his mother being his heir instead of his younger brother. and assassination is near impossible not possible at all as a kid.

Also why are vassals of my allies able to raid me and then cause my allies armies to become hostile killing off my troops as they follow me around ?!

And why when i capture members of the faction do they just leave the war including the leader causing the war to be invalidated and me gaining nothing from it not even being able to revoke any land?! they should immediately be branded criminals when rebelling against the ruler.

my primary dejure duchy counties should not be going to a non player heir when there are other titles for them to inherit nor should they inherit one county in one duchy and one in another. i was going to give give a duchy to DD youngest daughter but she died before i did it causing the daughter to get three counties one in my primary dejure duchy and two in another with the player heir getting a county in that other duchy.

I honestly mean no offense by this, but it sounds to me like you need to work some more on the basics before you go for an achievement like Mother of Us All.

First, work on understanding the succession mechanics correctly, that's probably the number one thing most players have their biggest initial struggle with. It's clear you don't fully grasp them at all; you're dealing with 9th century unreformed paganism here. What you describe about your realm fracturing is normal - you have to learn the strategies to counteract this and use them.

However, Africa isn't the best place for you to learn freely, it can be a more challenging environment where you're instantly surrounded by enemies and can get quick game overs.

I would highly suggest playing instead as the selectable scenario character who is the Petty King in Ireland in the 1066 starts. Dynasty name Briain I think. Play around with him and learn about the strategies to plan and manage your inheritance.

Basically, you want to have either male or female preferred succession, which limits the amount of extra kids you will need to 'deal with' by half, no matter which one it is (98% of the game starts will have male-preferred, though with Daurama specifically there is an event you get in the first year where you can go female-preferred if you like).

Then you need to try to limit the total amount of kids you have. This can be kind of a deadly guessing game, since you don't want to necessarily marry a 16 year old and have a dozen kids to deal with, but nor do you want to marry a 38 year old and miss the chance to get your preferred gender heir. Strike a balance.

This usually means you'll end up with maybe 1-3 spare kids of your preferred gender. Now you have to get creative.

One way to kill them off is by forcing them to be knights, then getting them into retarded battles and trying to kill them. There is also a Dynasty Head mechanism to 'Disinherit' someone, though that costs renown and the use of it should be kept to a minimum (it's great if you're almost dead though and haven't been able to get rid of that one last pesky extra prince or whatever).

If your religion has the Monasticism tenet, you can force extra kids to 'take the vows' which will remove them from succession. If your religion has temporal clergy, you can appoint one kid to be your court chaplain, which will remove them from succession.

If you have the Sadistic trait, you're allowed to engage in hostile plots against your own close family, and can use Murder plots against them. If you're using the Dread mechanic and don't mind Tyranny because you've got Lifestyle choices that give you bonuses rather than penalties for being evil, throw the extras in jail and execute them.

There is probably close to a dozen different strategies to help manage your succession more smoothly, and I mentioned most of the most popular/easiest to achieve ones. Once you've mastered succession you can try some harder playthroughs like Daurama, but you're probably wasting your time until you have a better command of the basics.

yeah still new to ck3 succession i gave up on equal rights and switched to female preference on my third try and so far so good only had two daughters and if it wasn't for Kanem id have an empire already still pretty far off in faith to reform the faith though so i probably wont manage to do that with Daurama.
still dont understand why they are so much worse at assassinations than my previous play thru's

some of it is just luck but you want to limit your heirs so when you get the event choose female only and disinherit your son and then focus on the august line in diplomacy and getting that plus 25 vassalization once you get a kingdom youll be able to vassalize most of dejure counts and dukes of the same religion if they are not to powerful and then you should be able to get the empire level title in her life time.

Disinherit unwanted children and keep plugging along. Also when you reform your faith look for conversion speed and resistance to other faiths conversions. Best of luck.
