How do i become dynasty head without cadet branch?
Current head is my vassal - i rule a kingdom, he rules a single duchy, im culture head of our culture, i have more sons and daughter, the only thing he has more than me is age... Is that it? is it cuz he's an "elder" ?

Also if he were to somehow, very unfortunately die, would i be "next in line" for dynasty head?

Only house heads can become the dynasty head. And the house head title is hereditary. Solutions:

A) all other dynasty members which are not below you in succession need to die

B) you need to somehow become the heir of the house head

C) you need to become feudal/clan

D) the dynasty head needs to become feudal/clan (this actually allows tribal dynasty members to form cadet branches, as of patch 1.03)

ok so to test what you said, i used a mod and started murdering everyone that was inheriting the house head position to see where i was in line and after i murdered about 30 people (!) my daughter (!) who come after me (!) became the house head and at that point i gave up

i'm a successful king that ruled for nearly 40y so far i can live with not being the dynasty head, f.uck 'em lmaoo

Well for example in Iceland 867 under Audr Flatnefr, you are in a similar situation. You are completely isolated as the only christian member of the family, and have the house head somewhere in (iirc) Isle of Man under Ivar the Boneless, possibly they also gain feudal lands during the chaotic wars over Britain.

So either their last member dies, then my ruler becomes both dynasty and house head.
Or one time the current house head became feudal, and i got the special notification about forming a cadet branch. Lastly you can also win a crusade and move on, but that's not an option for you.

And i think it's been said a hundred times already - don't give land to your heirs. Things like that will happen.

i usually give lands to my kids but not the heir specifically but somehow she got her hands into a kingdom claim and i pushed it and im her primary heir and i doubt she'll have children so, either she'll die and i'll get her kingdom or i'll die and play as her and have everything - i dont regret a thing lmao
