Try again next generation and see if it's different without that trait. Basically the way seduction works is that normally, you get three options at the end of a successful scheme: One to become lovers, one to "hit it and quit it", and one to back out at the last second.
Not quite. Seduce can create lovers or one-night stands, at your choice. (Again, usually. A trait may be interfering in OP's case.) Romance, meanwhile, can create soulmates. Romance doesn't need to be used on a lover, mind.
I just tried another character with Arbitrary, and he doesn't have the "You will not become lovers" thing.
AHHHH ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you're right. I just checked the Count von Wittenburg's prideicon and it turns out he's gay.
Is there any way to ungay a character? I'm still early so I guess it's not going to be a huge deal to either start over, or get him killed, but if there's a way out of homosexuality that doesn't involve suicide then it might be fun to learn the procedure during a practice game, rather than learn it on the spot when a serious game is in trouble.
As soon as the character figures what tickles their fancy they're stuck with that. Or at least I never noticed any form of pray the gay away camps in the game.
Similarly, Befriend does not 100% make friends, Romance does not 100% make soulmates etc.

I've noticed that stress breaks can get rid of traits; The Gay is not a trait anymore so I dunno if that'll work tho.
I'm probably just going to start over with a new character, because there's no way I can find ten secret gay dudes to seduce before this Count dies of old age. Disappointing!
I mean, it's a game about casual incest, viking abductions, and skinning people alive. Given that people don't bat an eye when I convert to the Pope to Satanism or when I cannibalize my daughter because the stress of losing my favorite horse made me go insane, then I'd hope people can deal with bringing a single character back onto the straight-and-narrow Christian path.
Homosexuality is a sexual preference disorder, and as such cannot be "cured". People tried that with psychology, medication, lobotomy, and even the good old catholic exorcism.
Then again you could cure cancer in CK2 through experimental treatments, smoking cannabis products and other non-scientifical events. So the realism card is probably not entirely valid here.
One thing to note here is that the developers decided to remove homosexuality as a trait with its negative impact, and instead added the sexual orientation for everyone. Meaning that characters are only judged by their actions, thus your gay ruler doesn't have to fear negative consequences unless you personally engage into "sodomy". The inability to have lovers is a very minor drawback, since a heterosexual ruler with female lovers would also be a sinner, and thus easily excommunicated.
I mean, it's a pretty major drawback when the entire run hinges upon three achievements, all three of which require Lovers. It's literally gamebreaking.
And you can't get those with male lovers?
Perhaps there are some general tips in the wiki https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Achievement
