Casus belli doesn't appear in the list while trying to declare war

Hi everyone,

As the king of Nubia, Alodia's duchy is in my de jure kingdom. It should then give me a casus belly to attack its ruler, but when i try to declare war to him there is no casus belli in the list:

And I even have a lady in my court who has claim for this duchy, and its claim doesn't appear in the casus belli list either:

Is it a bug or does anyone have an explanation to it?

Does your character happen to be celibate?

Been a few posts in the last few days about how celibacy prevents you from declaring wars, most likely a bug.

I dont know much about the game but I believe you need a technology researched to do that.

Yes I just checked and it's true ! I don't have the technologies yet to declarere war for a de jure casus belli.

Just as an added note you can use existing claims for war without any tech. I assume the problem with the lady in your court is that that you're likely in a male dominated religion which allows women's claims only to be pushed against other women, children or incapable rulers.

Yes Xef but you need technology to declare war with the De Jure casus belli. And I don't have either the tech to do it for a county or a duchy so it explains why I don't have casus belly for my ruler.

But I think you're right for the lady's claim, I'll have to check that but it makes sense.
