How do I get all my mods to load?
Hi,

How do I get all my mods to load? I'm playing as 867 Wrath of he Northmen, as Bjorn Ironside. All the game rules are set to default except I've set the game to easy.

I thought this game was like EU4 with the mod folder in documents/pardox interactive/europa univeralis IV.

I changed to documents/pardox interactive/crusader kings 111. I moved the mod folder to my desktop and thought all my mods would be in a new mod folder the game would add when I started it.

I resarted the game as above and still no mods, in fact it didn't even add a new mod folder.

I moved the mod folder from my desktop and restarted and still the same, even with the mod folder I moved from my desktop. It had 4 mods in it, but I couldn't tell which ones they were. I have around 22 listed a enabled in the first start up screen.

There is a file folder under paradox/interactive called .launcher-cache that has all my mods listed.

What do I need to do? Do I have to pick a different player, clear my steam cache, start a different year, restart my computer? Is there a video I could watch that explains it? I'm at a loss!!

Thanks,

Keith

Why did you move the folder? On Steam (and when using the Workshop) you don't have to do anything for your CK3 mods to load. Afaik the game adds and loads them automatically unless you specifically disable them in the launcher. But if the workshop folder is no longer in its intended place, then of course the game won't find the mods.

Symbolic Links have been around since 1980 & people rarely know this function.

Personally, I use this function to install all of my Steam & GoG games on a high capacity HDD & use this function to "move & replace" games on a lower capacity, but faster, SSD or NVME.

In the future OP, if you are really into computers, you may want to take this into consideration for "moving around" games and/or mods as another way to complete your goals.

(Learning to use run commands also works wonders in life.) :)

Aurian,

Since both EU4 and CK3 are both Pardox games I thought CK3 would load mods like EU4.

In EU4 each time you change mods you have to delete the mod folder and when you start the game it puts your mods in a new folder it creates in pardox interactive/europa unversalis IV
I hate to delete any folder installed by the game that is why I moved it to my desktop rather than delete it.

I moved the folder back into pardox interactive/crusader kings 111 and it still doesn't load alll my mods. I also added a new folder called mod in the same place and it doesn't load the mods.

Does that help?

You don't have to delete anything at all for CK3 and the Steam workshop mods to load. You just subscribe to the mods you want on the Workshop, and then start the game, and that's it. Maybe try a clean reinstall of the game and then subscribe to the mods on the Workshop, and start the game?

Aurian,

How do I get a clean reinstall of CK111? I've searched the Steam page and can't seem to find where I can delete the game and get it to download it again. Can you direct me to the right Steam page?

Thanks for you help.
