How is this game so small (hard drive)
Just bought the game and the initial download is only 4 GB?

this cant be all right? Are there additional downloads after that one or is that it?
major games nowadays take at least 50 gigs

9~GB - more if you have lots of save files and mods.

Feels more like 100GB+ though, content wise.

Seems to be 4.77 gb on hard drive for me and about 500 mb for what's in the documents folder so not much more unless it's hidden well.

Graphics is what takes up most space in games. This game isnt really graphics heavy, its mostly code.

Mostly 2D, barely any 3D assets. No need for massive textures and so on.
Honestly, most grand strategy games have fairly small sizes apart from stuff like Total War that likes to have big flashy 3D battles.

almost all the hard drive space of modern games is consumed by graphical assets such as HD textures.

in CK3 the textures for the 3D character models probably take up a good part of the few GB of disk space the game uses up. without those, it might be in <1 GB range actually.
