Can Great Pox be lost?

Should it be possible for somebody to lose Great Pox, or is it a bug? I had a prisoner contract smallpox so threw him out.. Kept an eye on him just because I wanted to see if he died, and then his Great Pox (which he also had) suddenly vanished. Went out and back into his profile in case he had died or something, but no he is still alive and his Great Pox is gone. He still has the smallpox though.

EDIT: And now he has recovered from the smallpox, too.

I was cured from greatpox. I got a pop up saying I was cured. So its definetely something that is supposed to happen
My wife was cured from lepresy. I did not get a pop up, I just looked one day and it was gone. Not sure if that was a bug
