Reclaim Britannia!
Anyone having an issue with the effects of this?
It says culture change will be drastically quickened within Britannia, but my Steward (score 22) is now taking ... 2 years, instead of 4 years to change culture.
I did this previous to 1.1 and it took a few months.

didn't try it again after the update, but i noticed when i hit that decision in my 1.0 campaign (with irish culture) that the effect gets applied directly to counties and apparently if skips counties that belong to the same culture group (?) as yours.

so the few gaelic and welsh counties that were still left at this point didn't get the 1000% conversion speed buff, but scots, anglo saxon and english counties got it and the conversion of those lands took only half a year or so per province

It only works on anglo-saxon kind of cultures, if you have norvegian culture on some counties (or other scandinave's one most likely) it won't work for them.

That's strange, it should take way less than that.

It also works with other Cultures, I did it in my first campaign.

Well not it my case, I had a few counties converted to norvegian culture or something like that, and those counties were the only one that didn't get the conversion bonus (and would have taken 3 years instead of 3 monthes).

Are you sure it was the counties that were from an other culture and not the rulers ?

Zaidah appears to be on to something.
It was the Norse/Norwegian counties (I took over Danelaw) that were going slower.
This is not what the tooltip says when you take the option, though.
It's a correct answer, but still seems wrong.
However, looking it over, it's an awful choice anyways as it largely screws over the Irish advantage of small area to develop. Making all of Britannia Irish slows down your "research" speed.
There is so much to this game that seems like it's just not quite right.

Basically I replaced all Norwegians with Irish ones after a civil war shortly after the conquest of Danelaw. There may be something going on I guess, it definitely worked for me.

Buff has been nerfed from 1000% to 75%.

That explains it, thanks for pointing it out.

This makes Reclaim Britania purely a title (achievement?) bait decision.
It should at least grant an empire title choice or grant some +prestige/mo or dynasty renown.
It's pointless like this.

Ya, i recently used this decision and found it extremley underwhelming. In the time the modifiers were active i managed to switch about 4-5 counties.

Oof almost 3 years later and this decision sucks! 4 years to convert a single province!! i will get 2 provinces out of it, had i known i wouldn't have bothered with trying to go for an empire

Getting an Empire title is definitely worth it, because then you can have unlimitted kingdom titles under you assuming you don't reach your vassal limit. Brittania itself is probaly the 4th or 5th most powerful empire title in the game.

It's just the reclaim Brittania decision that's awful. You're much better just taking enough of the british isles and just dropping the cash to form the empire title the vanilla way.

Yes but i did it while still being tribal, so now i have to actually micro the sucession. My initial plan was to just de jure everything under kingdom of ireland (it was already half way there anyway except the most recent conquests)

Don't revive old threads, create a new one to talk about whatever you want about the game.

Played until the end of the modifier, got a single province converted. I was expecting all of my irish rulers to jump on the boat and convert their own realms too, but i guess the AI must decide according to acceptance of the culture or something. All of the cultures in england were pretty much 100% accepted before i even got to take the decision.

Is there a reason to not do it? I currently don't see anything wrong with it, Is on topic and relevant and part of the point of the comment was how it didn't change after 3 years of being discussed.

I think is much worse to make off topic comments or when someone acts like a moderator when they're not one.
