Found a New Empire question
My goal is to found a new empire containing four kingdoms. I currently have one kingdom title, but I can create/usurp the remaining titles soon (holding off until the last moment because I have Partition).

According to the definition of this decision, the kingdom titles will become de jure part of the new empire. But since you also need to have 80 counties, I am unsure about the cleanliness of this. I don't want to create a custom-realm mess, so I really want just those 4 kingdoms and nothing more, nothing less as de jure to the new empire.

I currently don't have the full kingdoms, but I have enough to create and/or usurp all of them. Planning to get rid of all the other counties I have outside of those kingdoms right as I'm going to found the empire, that isn't such a big deal. But I wonder about the counties I don't have. Will the full kingdom with all of its de jure counties be part of my empire, or just the counties I hold as I create the empire? (in other words, will the kingdoms be de jure shattered?)

If it's the latter, I'm going to have to wait with creating the empire until I hold every county in the kingdoms I want to include.

So, I didn't have ALL of Ireland (missing the south/west Duchies, Munster, Connacht, and Leinester(?)), and so those parts were NOT part of the new Empire, and also I could NOT usurp or establish the Kingdom of Ireland after that. Maybe it would have worked if I had less of Ireland or all of it, not sure.

IIRC only the held Kingdoms will move to your empire. Duchies and Counties held by you but not part of those kingdoms will not transfer.

And IIRC the Realm Size is how many baronies you have in your realm.

I just did that in my game, and all the random counties became dejure part of the new Empire, and it's a mess.
Felt like a trap choice after I did it, unto founding a Holy Order that eats up a holding and I never get to hire them. What was the point?

Hmm, that would be perfect, then I wouldn't even need to get rid of anything I have outside of the realm I want to create. But I'm really not sure that is the case, and as said, I want to respect the existing de jure borders to create as few confusion and de jure disputes as possible. Also because my OCD has set that as my goal :-)

I think so too, but that's not a problem. It's easy to follow, it's being tracked in the decision requirements. Right now I have 79 of 80, that is of course with the counties I might have to get rid of first - but as the kingdom I do want to include is currently fractured into a lot of small independent duchies and counties, and I have the force vassalage perk, that's rather easy to get.

That's exactly what I want to avoid. I also thought it would be like that, hence I want to get rid of unwanted counties first.

The question is not about counties I have though. Will the kingdoms in my empire be shattered and de jure lose the counties I don't have when creating the empire? I actually suspect now that they will. The safest bet will probably be to own all the counties I want in the empire, just to be sure.

Meh, that's actually a nice challenge.

I guess that answers my question :)

Okay, going for all of it :)
