FONT SIZE IS UNREADABLE
Is there a way to make the font size larger? On 5076x1200 and scaled to 110% I can't see half the text, if I scale to 120% it cuts off the menus.

in 2021 need mods to play your game as intended is a shame ! A lot of games have this problem, not just this one.
I started to play on an Amiga 500, 30 years ago, my eyes are old and tired to try to read texts in game !

And if you use a mod just to read texts on screen you are punished with no more success ... hilarious and depressing !

Having played games for so long then you should be well aware that there were plenty of Amiga games that didn't run correctly if you had too much memory. Basically punishing you for having a better computer than most. Fact of the matter is that most devs focus on a baseline setup and go from there. Don't pull this old man "things were so much better in my day" when we had to hope and pray that games didn't freak out over our setups even though it met the requirements because it didn't like the brand of some part we used.

Oh and UI mods that increase text size shouldn't disable achievements. Because I know just how important a little popup in the corner giving you a digital badge of honor has been to gaming since the Amiga days...

English is not my native language perhaps I had badly expressed what I have in mind. The debate is not to know if games was better in my old days or not. I just would say that the problem stay the same from years and is not only with this game. with bigger resolution images displayed on screen had a better look but in the same time text become more tiny. Apparently this is not a technology problem cause modders can solve it.

So yes it's a shame because what I understand is : developers don't care about the players and hope for free workforce to solve it. For an independent dev who work alone and sell is game for a reasonable price I can accept that. For Paradox, specialist in the DLC market, who sell whole game and DLC for more than 150€, I hope the minimum of service for the price. and for me the minimum of service is to can play my game without the help of a magnifying glass or a mod.

Generally I don't care of success. In CK3 success are a way to find new things to do for a new playthrough .... and I don't know why I justify this. I pay for success I want to have my success and don't want to be punished cause devs do half of there job. I will verify if UI mods in CK3 don't break success, I'm not sure of this

EDIT : For those who are searching for this is a series of mods who are achievement compatible, they just change the font not the size

Seams like a huge screen, Sit closer?

I'd need a 10' screen to see 20 feet away.. It's hard to get all that text and stuff especially in a game like this in menus that look decent and work. lots of larger text has over flow and such.

That said, I wish more time was spent on just that thing, there are lots of folks with bad vision that love to game. just like color blind, large font should be a thing just like mouse support and adaptive gaming pads.

it's 2021, spend some time on accessibility.

Alright, I'll bite.

Why in the world did you buy a monitor nearly four and a half times wider than it is tall?

You do get the minimum of service. You paid for a product, the product you paid for works, isn't littered with viruses and is updated at the company's discretion when needed. The exchange is complete and your enjoyment of the product doesn't factor in. In a perfect world, we would get more than this. This isn't a perfect world though. We'd all like Paradox and the rest of the games industry to care more but until their wallets are threatened at a government level, they will continue to do what they do, blame innocent employees who are, going by recent stories about Paradox, already overworked and let the internet hate mob do their job as the wrong people get punished for this.
TL;DR Don't blame the devs, blame the executives.

Heh, talk about an over reaction.. because a game isn't optimized for a monitor maybe 1% of the users have you want to sick a crazed internet mob on them?

every single major company has issues with workers rights just pick a company any company and see how many things have been bad/.wrong in the last 20 years. Everysingle broadcast company, half the movie companies, heck even disney and ESPN have been in hot water. I guess you missed the fast food wars, hobby lobby taking away people's insurance, Delivery drivers for many places being under paid and not insured. And on top of that all the guy/girl issues. Paradox is in the low end when it comes to how bad they treat folks and how they get compensated.

But really i'd hardly call any paradox game. "minimum service"

thanks to explain me the live :D

when I say dev I speak of the decision makers, the development studio who is Paradox Interactive Studio, I don't blame John Smith underpayed employee who just execute the orders. For a guy who want to explain the live to others, you are a joke if you was unable to understand this !

And another thing
"The exchange is complete and your enjoyment of the product doesn't factor in."
Yes my enjoyment of the product matter. I don't buy a spoon to eat this pap (untranslatable soup and pap is the same word in french) I buy a game to enjoy during my free time. So for me, as a customer, my enjoyment is the main factor. It's why I stopped to buy Paradox product since a lot of years, cause their politics of DLC. I just relapse in 2015 for CS and in 2020 for CK3.

So to be honest I know who they are and I'm not astonished that they just don't care about accessibility, they don't have a colorblind mod In a 2020 ! In 1987 Arkanoid had one !!!
I know all of that and I didn't steal this game I bought it so I complain cause is my right (and the last thing I can do) as an unhappy customer. If you prefer misunderstand what I say it's your right to but in this case the discussion has no interest.

have a good day/night

At what point did I say I was the one who wanted a crazed internet mob? Have you not noticed the entitled lunatics who lose their damned minds every single dev diary blaming the developers themselves and calling them lazy for Royal Court taking a long time instead of looking at the consistent trashfire the management has been for years or the fact that they bought a season pass with zero guarantee when the first major expansion would be out? You reach a point where every single complaint starts feeling like another excuse for those same people to complain more.

Also, them being better than the absolute worst doesn't make them great and from what I can tell it's most because of Swedish labor laws that Paradox isn't more exploitative.

I'm a joke because I can't read your intent when one word means a fairly specific thing? Devs means the people who work directly on the game. When people are talking about management they usually use words like execs, producers, leads and because you speak English better than 90% of the native English speakers I live near, I assumed you were aware of that fact, so sue me for giving you more credit than you deserve. So let me rephrase. You're enjoyment does not matter *to Paradox*. Of course your enjoyment matters to you personally. But in a *legal* sense, in what *corporations* value, once the transaction is complete, your enjoyment doesn't matter. And thanks to all the money they rake in, they see no need to change that. You know what's a real joke? People who buy something from a company they know don't care about accessibility and think they should get any sympathy when their inaccessible product is inaccessible. You gave them money *knowing* what they're like and expected them to do better for no reason. I completely understand what you said, you know what things are like, but expect them to be different even though nothing has changed. That's exactly how most of my fellow Americans go through life.

Ok first sorry for my unpleasant words last night I'm just tired by trolling account with 0 steam point. I see you are human and we are globally agree. I'm not so fluent in English, it's easy when you write it, you have dictionary and auto correction, not the same to speak, but I have a sexy french accent :D

I know the youth use dev for coders or programmers, but i'm not sure that is the right meaning, in French or English; for me a dev is the Project Manager more than the guy who write the code but perhaps I'm wrong for years. For sure I keep the hope that one day accessibility become important for development studios cause we are all concerned by this. In our screened society; customers like employees have eyesight problems, if neirds have big glasses it's not a fashion style, it's mainly because they stay all the day in front of a screen. It's why I start this discussion speaking about my 30 years of gaming ...
I know it's a drop in the ocean but if nobody complain why things would change ? So I complain, we never know, perhaps one lead will see this message and will take it in consideration ... or not

My only big problem with Paradox is the DLC politics, I never bought any CS DLC but I know I will bought them for CK3, it's my choice. I accept it cause there is no equivalent games on the market. I don't buy CK3 in the hope things have changed, I bought it cause for me CK is the best series of this type.

And finally there is more chance that they change the accessibility point of view than the DLC politics, so why not to try ;)

The main issue I have is with complaining about it on Steam. This is the last place any major publisher would actually look for feedback on these issues. Steam forums are so notoriously toxic that they can easily dismiss complaints here as just trying to stir up drama. Posting about this on their own forums, directly emailing the company or even a change.org petition have a better chance of actually accomplishing anything that complaining on Steam. Complaining here is closer to complaining at a bar than it is complaining to Paradox.
darkslimus Oct 1, 2021 @ 3:02am
Perhaps ... but complaining to Paradox never change nothing too. I have not open this thread, just post my own opinion, not for the drama, I'm not one of the drama/cancel gen. I have something to say I say it and I don't care if you (ot others) are agree or not, you want to debate we can debate, you prefer tell me how I must react or not I can be sarcastic in my answer but it would be the last.
I never leave a comment in dev diarys positive or negative, I must have made 2 review on steam, but if I decide to tell my opinion I tell it and don't care if you think it's useless or not
Ronny Oct 5, 2022 @ 6:53am
Hey guess what, ive found a solution that worked...atlest for me, i play on 1920x1080. The fonts were terribly small, so i changed to resolution to somethingelse to check if that would work, of course the graphics were terrible.

BUT
When i changed it back to 1920x1080, suddenly, all fonts were decently sized and readable ?!

No idea if this works for TV's and ♥♥♥♥♥.
