How do I do that?

Right click on a duke or a king, and see if there's an option to swear fealty or something like that. Around you i'd say maybe wessex ?

Click on a ruler with a higher rank than you and very bottom should be submit vassalization or something.

Yup... Build alliances quickly(Marriages) with other factions to hold fast against the ongoing viking onslaught. You will need to "weather the storm". (What I named nicknamed my dynasty as East Anglia). Hit the vikings as soon as they land, keep knights over "10" prowess fighting, create men at arms to counter vikings. Let the vikings raid you if they are overpowered..

Some raids you will have to accept, but to not allow any loss of actual land. Work on fabricating and expanding your domain

I'm hanging in there as the earl of Herefordshire right now. The key was, as a vassal of Mercia, join any wars my king was having trouble with and make sure Mercia lasted long enough to be a proper protective force. Once Jorvik splinters after Halfdan's death, things become a lot safer.

Okay, I tried out the Lancaster dude. For me he had like 5 troops total. Then there was like 6000 stacks of vikings coming along with the raids. If you do nothing and let things happen, you'll have to worry about your heirs getting taken and wife and etc getting killed.

If you join a war are you able to call in alliances for you and your liege?

Cheers mate, I attempted it a few times and it's just impossible to survive with just the earl of Lancashire as you start with 200 men against 6,000 vikings. No chance!

You could always get a Casus Belli on some other territory and see if you can take it from someone else. You'll lose your original territory but survive to die another day.

Since you don't start off as a tribal, you don't have the neighbor cb. You're kind of screwed. xD

Haha yeah there really doesn't seem like there's much I can do. I've attempted an independence war with my liege so I can white peace the vikings, I came close but still no cigar.
