Since you're in Italy and Germany, I imagine you're feudal, so they don't give that much to begin with. You better count on yourself and I don't know how you get only 1000 levy and 5 gold. It should be more than that from your own counties.
tab immediately after work. Why would vassals not be de jure? I took over much of Italy "legally" after declaring war based on a claim. I have a lot to learn in this game.
The boot has 3 kingdoms... 2 of which are de jure to the empire of Italy.. One too Byzantium. So, having de jure issues is not uncommon depending on what you hold.
Thank you, good to know.
What I also find strange is that I can give up all duchy titles, except for 1 specific one (Verona), because if I do that, my heir is exchanged for the guy I'm giving it to, and suddenly my grandson is not the "next" heir anymore but his own son. But that doesn't happen with the other duchies. What's the rationale behind this? Does this have to do with de jure?
If you're a foreign king for a county, you also would have to hold the local kingdom title. Same issue on the empire level, with all kingdoms where you don't own the emperor title above.
And this goes down through the line, large parts of the vassal chain are simply not de jure. With the guaranteed 14-month claim forging and the wandering guests, the problem has gigantic proportions.
And the reduction is like what, 90%? Or more? That is why you have vassals with 2 kingdom titles, but only 1,500 total troop strength. Basically less than the average Count has.
The problem is just that there is no way to enforce any kind of de jure structure, at least not without constant -500 tyranny.
And the AI, all the way down to the lowest counts, does nothing else than forging and pressing claims. It does not weigh in that these unrightfully obtained lands are not worth anything, unless they personally hold the county themselves.
The global auto-alliance mechanic from marriages further accelerates the chaos, in particular since the AI always declares war with a firm expectation of all allies to join them.
Pretty sure that is my problem. Question is: How to correct it? I am indeed owner of a lot of duchies with vassals who don't recognize me. What to do about it? Can more kingdom authority make this right? Do I need to get rid of them as vassals either by murder or royal decree (forgot what the name of this was in-game) and put in my own people?
Oh I already see. One way to remedy this is to create all kinds of titles I don't hold yet. Damn... they cost a bunch of money of course.
