Fabricate hook - how to get a strong hook please?
Hi!

I'm trying to get a strong hook on my head of faith but I can only get weak hooks whenever I fabricate a hook, how do I get a strong hook, please? Is it more common the more I keep doing the scheme or do I need to unlock or do anything else?

It's pretty much random for all I know. But I noticed that generally your "dialogue" options in all intrigues are better if you have a character geared for it. In particular - Schemer perk, Deceitful / Sadistic traits.

Can't find solid info on the wiki, but i got mostly strong hooks by having the spymaster on "find secrets" with the talent "Truth is Relative" for myself. These cost a lot of money, but have no fail chance (unlike your own scheme)

Ah thank you both! Yeah my character isn't the best character trait-wise but has got the Truth is Relative perk, but spymaster is on Support Scheme rather than Find Secrets.. I would try this not but the game won't even let me fabricate now! Just has the option greyed out and a ticked box saying "character has Truth is Relative" trait ??

What I dont get about fabricate claim is that I get discovered way too often despite having a 90 percent success chance, something is wrong about those numbers.

i've been having the same trouble.
have a character with high intrigue, has the fabricate hook perk, high intrigue spymaster either finding secrets or fabricating hooks, supporting schemes, seductions. still can't get more than a weak hook or a strong hook secret, which is then disabled from being used to become an actual strong hook with no sensible explanation as to why.

You don't fabricate these yourself, just the "find secrets" job from the spymaster does this.

Bewarned that this is completely unreliable, as it constantly wants to give strong hooks on random people at the target court. Rarely the character you want the hook on.

The best use is if you desperately need agents for a murderplot.

Blackmail hooks are a good way to farm gold from counts/duchys and if you get one on your king, you can use the strong hook to give yourself some extra benefits (reduced taxes, troop levies or even permanent seat on council).

Also, while hooks on guests and courtiers might not yield any gold, you can use the hook to drag them to your court which is useful if you get one on a character with godly stats.
