Raiding doesn't work or am I not getting something right?

Hello :) After tutorial I wanted to play as a pagan polish leader from Kraków, but got stuck at the very beginning. I checked multiple "guides" for raiding and it just doesn't seem to work for me. My raiding armies just stand still next to the settlement I wanted to raid. I'm not at war with them, I have the "always raid" box checked, I don't know what else to do. Is this some kind of a bug or am I missing something?

I'm assuming you raised your army as raiders? Click on your raiding army to select them and look at the county you want to raid and make sure there there is money to be raided. Probably won't find more than 17 gold to raid in the start of the game per town, most won't have any. Sometimes other raiders have already raided the town recently so there will be a torch icon, make sure there is no torch icon. Also, you can't raid allies. Once you get a town that has gold, you should instantly be raiding it without clicking anything. click on the county you are raiding to see the progress, it should take around a month to raid, less if you have have a commander with good raiding traits.

Thanks for the reply. I did exactly as you said 3 times, nothing happens. I raise all as raiders, I have "always raid" box checked, I right-click non-friendly settlement (but not being at war with it too) and my raiding army just goes there and stands still forever. There's no icon indicating the settlement is being raided, I don't try raid those with the torch icon, there's no green progress bar like there should be (I can see it showing when the computer is raiding other settlements).

No idea what to do now. I'll start a new game and try, since restarting a CK3 and reloading a save didn't help. Damn that's not good, I was extra psyched about playing my ancestors in this game :D

bring your raiders to the british isles, there is plenty to raid there. Also make sure your troops have supplies. stay along the coast so they use less supplies and take less attrition. It's also possible you raided all you can with your current army. You have to bring your army back to your land so they can drop off their gold since they have an inventory limit. If you have 2,000 raiders you can only carry 200 gold before you have to drop it off in your land.

I know that but if the raids don't start at all, there's really no difference of where I do it :(

EDIT: I think that was a bug. It worked now after creating a new game.

Some settlement already getting raid before (you can see torch icon beside settlement name) if you press raider and hover your mouse to settlement, you can see how much gold you get from them?
and you need to return to your territory for gold transfer

Now that it's working for you, if you take one county next to a profitable raiding area like England or France, you can both raise your raiders there and drop the gold off. Enjoy!

Have the raiders gotten into a fight? I was raiding with a 3k army and some random neighbor pathed a 600 peasant stack through me, which I slaughtered, but after the battle my raiders broke and wouldn't raid anymore.

Also been having this problem. Raised as raiders, Issue tab gave me a prime location. Nothing - Raisers just standing still! 15 Gold to be had - not recently raided. Not been in a fight.

Is Raiding ALLOWED for your culture? That might be it?? I wouldnt know but it could be.

If it wasn't allowed for his culture he wouldn't have the option to raise them as raiders.

Here's a thought: Is the *army leader* from a culture that allows raiding? No idea if this is an issue but it's all I can think of.

Ok figured out my problem and is a 'Bug' . The issues tab directed me to raid (I am a count) inside my kings country. Either this is against the raiding rules or is a bug in the issues directing me to do something I obviously can't. When I went to raid outside my lieges country raiding worked.

AFAIK if you lose battle while raiding, you won't be able to raid that ruler for some time

I'm having this issue as well, sometimes I just randomly can't raid and it never gives any kind of explanation except for "you can't raid". Lately it seems like I'm totally stuck. I have circumnavigated my entire kingdom's borders with a raiding party and journeyed a bit away as well and never managed to start raiding on any province. I'm independent, have lost maybe 1 or 2 battles in the last 5 years (certainly not with ALL neighbors), and the army is definitely raised as raiders. I really can't imagine this is anything except a bug, or else it would give me some kind of explanation in the tooltip other than "you can't Raid".
