No Crusades?
It is 960 AD and I am playing as Wessex. I control roughly half of Hispania and all of England, Whales, Brittany. The Pope has not called a crusade yet in the game. Im curious if this is the case in other games.

1. Is your pope a slime ball?
2. Have others been using the Holy War option.

Such things lower your fervor. I suspect, the Catholics have been abusing Holy Wars, and your Pope is a slime ball.

It's quite possible it's to early for them. 1st crusade wasn't called until 1096 so maybe they don't enable them until that date. I've just been playing past the tutorial and I swear I get them every 15 years or so.

I got crusades as early as 890. I just exited a session with a crusade against the norse at 964, so eh. It seems pretty random.

Seems like the CK3 wiki is quite incomplete here. I can only point out how it works in CK2:

Right in the first paragraph. The chart below also details what exactly triggers the GHW era early.

Always have the first crusader before the year 1000. Little bit sad. Hope they fix this. There will be an event when crusades start. So it happend always to me. It's in. You have only bad luck

Maybe? Though as Wessex, I declared a holy war for counties against Vikings who were at war elsewhere. Perhaps the Zealotry of my first two rulers is to blame?

It all adds up on Fervor, it carries over from Pope to Pope.
