Joke aside, it all depends on you. I started my first run (still ongoing) with Wessex and my first goal was to resist Norse invasion and be the sole owner of the whole Britannia islands. I am missing 1 county because of Byzantium Empire (do not ask....).
But I have extended in both France and Spain. Sometimes by the game of succession of one of my vassals.
Now, I am setting the goal to advance quickly on the techs for the Anglo-Saxon culture for it to be recognized versus some others which are already more advanced. And I am also trying to keep Catholicism vs all the heresies popping out everywhere.
For that last part, it is about getting hooks, or put in prison to negotiate release for any of my Vassals who have ran astray + putting my bishop at work non-stop converting back duchies.
I am near 1100 year. So who knows in 100 more years what will have happened which will have shifted some of my goals.
My other personal goal is to take over Egypt and restore the faith. I have the Kushite religion which as far as I understand is very similar to the ancient Egyptian religion.
I also want the 10 independant Kingdoms in my dynasty achievement.
Also it’s impossible for me to get the full dynasity perk thing as every time my current ruler dies there’s a brief time current heir/new ruler isn’t head of dynasty and the temporary head instantly spends the currency..
Too bad the achievements that require you to play as a certain character or start with one are all bugged.
EU4 is a lot harder to do WC in.
This seems to be the only real goal there is. When the game says no more. Until than just see how far I can get or until I decide I learned so much I want to try something new.
I get this too, suddenly lose interest when I get too powerful and restart vs actually finishing it 100% map ownership.
I hold many Kingdom titles and I’m an emperor, should i give some
King titles to family members?
It seems like I haven’t gone very far as i started at 1166 (Scottish King Scenrio) and I’m now at 1300 and don’t own that much.
Empire of Britannina, including all the tiles in the UK and Ireland area.

Kingdom of Finland.
Some Chunks of Denmark.
Some chunks and small Kingdoms in the Muslim Spanish area.
