Way to grant women a title?
So I want to play as an unlanded female character Charna Frostwhisper. But she has no land or titles when the game starts. What are some ways I could get her a county or something so I can switch control over to her?

There are two ways. One is to edit your save and give her a specified title, the other is to use the console. Gimme one sec and I'll explain both.

Create a new Religion.
Marry her to someone, grant him land, then kill him maybe? Not sure if it has to be matrilinear.

Edit Save

Okay, to edit a save, head to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\save games.

Right-click on the game you started and extract with 7zip. If you don't have 7zip it's free, but if you'd rather not use extra software to accomplish this, you can always use the console method!

Once you've extracted, right-click the file that was extracted (it should be "gamestate") and open in notepad. Ctrl+F. Now search for the following:

first_name="Charna"

Quotation marks and all. This should bring you to an entry that has a number over it. Something like #####={. The number before ={ is something you'll want to copy to your clipboard. Next, find your title.

Its key will be written with a letter signifying its rank, then the name after an underscore. For example, if I wanted to find county Argyll, I'd type

key="c_argyll"

Once you've found the entry for the title you want, paste your copied numbers over the number next to holder=.

That should, if I'm not mistaken, put her in charge of the realm you want her leading! Now just rename "gamestate" to something with .ck3 at the end. For example, Charna.ck3. Then open up your game and load that save.

Console

First, go to Program Files\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III\binaries.

Right-click ck3.exe and make a shortcut on your desktop.

On that shortcut, right click and go to Properties.

In the Shortcut tab, you'll see a field that says Target. Add debug_mode after what's there, so that it looks like this:

"<filepath>\Crusader Kings III\binaries\ck3.exe" debug_mode

No quotes, just toss it in at the end. This will enable the console.

Open up the game through this shortcut (note: this might disable your mods, I haven't tested with mods) and start or load the game you want to edit.

Now find Charna in your game and hover over her portrait. Under some purple text in the tooltip, you should see an ID number. Also find the ID number for the title you want to give her. You can do this by hovering over the title on its info screen, I believe, but I haven't tried myself. Keep hovering over things related to the title until it shows!

Press the tilde (~) key to bring up the console, then type the following:

give_title x y

Replacing x with the title's ID, and y with Charna's ID.

Then save the game, quit out, and reload normally through the launcher. You should now be good to go!
