Yeah but from the vasal´s perspective I just killed a bunch of no-names from a enemy kingdom. It should just look as housekeeping. Is a little less spooky then say...killing a bunch of dukes/emirs. If you ask me, they should definely introduce some sort of weighing factor based on rank and religion + piety.
Maybe I haven't put in enough hours yet but I haven't see it directly affect opinion of me as a ruler.
I can usually win over their hearts and minds in time. But for the early succession it's useful to have people be afraid of you.
Maybe it says something about me or the amount of hours I've put into Crusader Kings or how zealous I am IRL, but I don't even see it as evil. It's just cleaning house for me. I could keep all these prisoners or release them if I'm really really nice or get them to convert. But if I can't ransom them back and they're just sitting around in my dungeon...
Besides, it's their fault for being the wrong religion and oppose me..or something like that..
