Crusader Kings III

Crusader Kings III

Statistiche:
Raiding should give a Casus Belli
Being raided is absolutely a cause for war and it is completely broken that it does not create a casus belli.

Once I get raided I should be able to invade whoever raided me with zero negative consequences.

I agree. Maybe in the future or with mods.

Edit. im gonna check how easy it would be to mod.

+1 i mean, it would be pretty ♥♥♥♥ for me, because i'm always raiding everything so everyone would get casus belli on me. but it would make sense.

+1, I keep getting raided by my brother and we're besties.
Probaly, if you ever been raided and then THEY use a CB on you, then well you'll be pretty salty when they basically weakend you with a raid and formally declared war to grab the land.

Not really sure if I'm more pissed or impressed. But seeing as I'm wiping out any viking scourge that pops into my kingdom and reclaimed my lost lands I'd say I'm the former.
Oh please. You lose like what, 20 gold? Meanwhile you have enough time to rally ALL your troops nearby, and by defeating the raiders you get all the gold they carry. Raiding is very moderate in CK3.
You're seeing this incorrectly. A casus belli is used to claim a title. If someone steals from you IRL, do you have a legal right to claim his home and live in it, then pass it on to your children? Raiding gives you the right to defend yourself. If you can't do that - which happens sometimes - you're going to lose gold. That's it. It doesn't magically give you a right to claim the throne of Sweden.

I think raiders are doing a bit more than just stealing. They are terrorizing the county, and a ruler should be able to put an end to that by any means necessary. It is clearly a matter of casus belli for war, everyone in your country would understand it, and everyone in the opposing country would understand it too. And guess what? Other nations would understand it. It would be rightful and legal course of action, and nothing else is needed.

If it was some 10 man gang, the matter would be different, but when it is 1000 man and more we are talking about army and assault.
You get hostility against raiders. Go get them. Raise an Army right next to them. They are held in raiding for a month. Raising troops takes days, then moving one barony would take a week. They are trapped, they have disembark penalty and might have a bunch of money to take.

TBH i think the issue is the same like the whine threads about seduction or succession laws.

Players don't want to accept that there will be horrible setbacks or even gameovers in CK3, because the rules and RNG affect everyone equally.
The resent unembarked penalty is huge. Use it to kill the raiders.

It is you who are seeing this incorrectly. Fabricated casus bellis are already lies, a simple game mechanic, better said click & lol casus belli. 1000+ man raiding your lands is a concrete casus belli, a /reason to declare war/. It does not have to do anything about any title, but as a consequence someone may lose a head and someone get a crown.
Seeing as how the Barbary pirates caused many coalitions to be formed and even crusades I think this is really reasonable. What World's Coolest Old Guy is saying is an incredible strawman, because that's not what's going to happen.

Also necrobump
I wouldn't be mad if it did, but I believe the raid opinion modifier should last for 2 years. I literally raped all of Bulgaria, West Byzantium, Italy, and France in a big circuit with a doomstack. In that order. By the time I was walking from France back to Denmark, Bulgaria had forgiven me and Byzantium was just a few weeks from forgiving me. By the time I got home and delivered the loot, only France and Italy were mad, and Italy was almost over it.

And I've seen necrobumps from a VERY long time ago. I would say this was taken out of the morgue, rather than excavated from a tomb.
