As for if you want to get rid of the boys... That's your call. Just note that you can only do it via assassination if your character is Sadistic!
Also if you have a kingdom and you're confident in your ability to manipulate your vassals you can also shoot for the special election types you can get in tribal (Scandinavian, saxon, or tanistry elective) which puts your kingdom title in it's own elective succession system allowing you to ensure your chosen heir gets your highest title at the very least, where usually your primary titles only go to your firstborn.
Also under confederate partition it states that new titles will be created, so even if you only hold one kingdom, if land is available for another kingdom, your damned brother will get that other kingdom, even if you didn't create it. So may as well create it and get some prestige.
I just had a brother become a duke and he formed a cadet branch. We share dynasty prestige, but he is no longer a member of my house and had some hyphenated name.
There's another option, a few religions like the Akan has a mixes between preacher from Christian and pagan, you can put a child to be your great shaman and they will not be able to inherit, and if you swap them 10 years later they will be able to inherit again, so you can remove one of your heir from the equation. If you have a male/female dominant religion and a monogamous relationships, you won't have many children, maybe 6 at max so you have to mind this.
