A wise man said to me once: do you know why women wear makeup and perfume? Because they are ugly and they stink.

If women today didn't wear any makeup, appearances would crater big time. Most women won't leave the house not made up.

In the game, no women are made up. Ergo, they look rather plain. Not too many girls look great without makeup, but some do. Some REALLY do. LOL

I actually disagree with this and find women are more attractive when they forego all of that nonsense, as the little things that make them distinct show. I recognize I'm in the extreme minority on this, however.

That's the problem, so many women slap so much makeup on their face that they look ugly without it (Not to mention the damage makeup does to the face itself). Meanwhile all the girls who never wear makeup look perfectly normal, they don't have moment where expectations are shattered after a shower.

There was no make up or enhancement surgery. Until recently, in breeding - which tends to lower both the genetic pool and looks - was rampant. Many royals would marry to a cousin and sometimes that would cause your looks to... well... not be a factor. Historically speaking, men started to breed with good looking wives versus any wife recently in the time lines. Also, your view of what is good looking is an opinion. I bet if you could time travel your great grand father would be asking who the foxy ladies were.

My only complaint is that many of the attractive women aren't considered 'pretty' or 'beautiful...' Though I guess beauty is subjective.
