A message to the developers:

There is waaay too much faith parties of islam in the game, way too much, some of them actually no relevant, and most of them politicaly not relevant, and some are just the same of other but the name which means they're friendly to each other, and very little of them matter to the game

In the world of kingdoms and politics, only two major faith parties of islam ever mattered, sunni (the most of muslims) and she'ah (never had an upper hand on sunni or lead the Islamic culture, in the whole history of its existence)


Adding so many different islamic parties can be so confusing in the worls of politics, and not necessarily at all, scene a lot of them died back then, or is too weak (school of small members), or friendly with other parties (identical structures of the house, just different pillows of the bed, at most, different bed)


By parties i mean group, way, believing people

Once the game starts, the history stops. In my game France, Wessex, and the whole of Ireland are Lollard. Next time they may go Adamist. Or stay Catholic or... It's not intended to play out as history happened.

The whole point is that the game is a history sandbox.
A giant " what if" scenario. While those islamic sects played no role in OUR world history they did exist and depending on the events in the game they may have become the prominent faith.
Paradox said they included ALL historical exisiting sects of each religion group to add more flavor to the game and to make it more interesting how the game history will turn out.

So they wont go back to just 2 Muslim faith groups. That would defeat the whole point of this change.

Same for Christianity, they added a ton of obscure sub sects that never played any real role in history but now they CAN.
I converted my Hispanic Empire from Catholism to Adamtism and now everyone runs around nude and promotes incest and free love and its spreading rapidly to my neighboring kingdoms.

Not sure if you are already aware of this, but each sect in the religion tab is either labelled as Sunni, Shia, Muhakimma, and others. This allows for each sect to merely see each other as 'astray', instead of hostile or evil, giving only a tiny negative opinion that has little effect in the grand scheme of things. I imagine they were split to better portray the different branches in their respected region without having them all under a single blanket term.

In Ireland there is a faith called "insular christianity" which is technically still catholic (I'm currently still playing around in ireland). I'm sure that the various faith groups in Islam is to model similar things where regional differences result in faith differences. A sunni in africa is probably going to practice their faith differently then a sunni in the arabian peninsula.

There are many different schools of thought in Islam, even within major branches such as Sunni or Shi'a Islam. Yes, historical schools of thought came and went in Islam, just like every other religion. It doesn't mean that Sunni or Shi'a need to be monoliths any more than Catholicism should be the only Christian faith in the game... AND Catholics have a Pope, so why is there so many divergent faiths?

Muslims were very different (culture was more important) during this period and they had various ways of living, depending on where, but the game can´t make different faiths have same head (thus the way insular does not have the pope as head either)

But it is much much more complex, so it will most likely get some love later on.. that being said, again.. they were very different the andalusian muslims were very progressive and had same sex religion as a very normal thing.. just to showcase a trait, that most would not link to Islam... But well.. sodomy was very normal in Islam in some areas. Just as it was shunned in others..


If you had digged abit on the official forum you would understand when there is "gameplay" over "historical accuracy" beside.. most people that get angry are often biased and have very little knowledge about the actual state of the world or religion anyway..

I assume that you are an adherent if you are studying Islam. Not everyone cares/believes in a religion. It's a game, so fun is important.

Just because you are a student, does not mean you are not biased or infact have "false" knowledge.. not that I would expect random people on the forum to understand what bias is. I reckon you would be a kind of person that would disclaim the fact Islam had homosexual relation as accepted in many branches and cultures
