My save got corrupt

Is there any chance i can get back my save which got corrupt. Note that i play vanila iron man and not modded.

It is just a black flag on my save and i am unable to start it. Got this from a game crash.

May I ask if you guys played with any mods? I am thinking maybe the mod author updated it and you have an incompatible version which might prevent loading. The mod may have updated and the file can not be loaded hence forth.

I do not see any base game, CKIII, updates so I do not think it is a game update crash for incompatible version. Are you able to load any of the save files or have they all gone black? There should be several auto saves.

This stems from a game crash, some game crashes create dump files and can destroy save files if let's say it was in the process of saving and was corrupted. Again this should be avoidable by multiple auto save files vs losing all your current campaigns.

No, I was playing vanilla ironman mode for getting achievements.There is a last_save.ck3 file in the documents/paradox games/crusader kings iii directory, so if you can slot that into the save folder before loading any other games or going to the map screen, you might be able to save a corrupted game.

I wasn't able to do that, but luckily Steam Cloud still had the older save on it. It did put me back about 30 years, so ehh.

Ok, were the rest of you people playing Iron man mode as well?

30 years is better than a wipe, iron man mode yeah one save so if it gets corrupted. If this is an isolated issue for iron man mode only it's easier to know for a hot fix.
