Crash on launch [SOLVED]

It crashes everytime I try to open the game I tried verifying game files, uninstall and reinstall, disabling windows defender, running ck3.exe as administrator in the game files, updated drivers. Anybody know the solution or do we have to wait until an update ?


I was playing NBA 2K20 with my gamepad plugged in to my computer, apperantly it was the problem when I unplugged the gamepad I managed to launch the game through ck3.exe. If you have something like gamepad plugged to your computer you can try unplugging it, maybe that works.

Same for me; did you manage to play the game the first time ? I did and since, can't go further than the launcher.

No I couldn't manage to open the game. I tried to open in windowed mod instead of fullscreen, It is just white screen then crashes immediately.

same here. you go an buy a brand new game for a bunch of money and then you cant even play it.....

Friend is having same issues apparently. I was trying to find more info on the forum before buying. The game seems to crash every 5-15 minutes for him.

This is what happened to me as well.
Started the first time, since then i cant get past launcher

Try launching the game directly from the executable, not your Steam Library.
I bypassed the launcher ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by opening ck3.exe directly from the steam folder I installed it into.

S:\Steam Library\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III\binaries

I had this same problem as well, I changed the game renderer from Vulkan to DX11 and I finally made it to the main menu. Don't know if this will help anyone at all but hopefully I can actually play the game now

Nothing here working....game crashes at launch or right after. Come on Paradox! NO MODS ever installed either.
