Sudden Faith Change
With no announcement, my current character and several counties throughout his kingdom switched to Lollardy. There were no Lollards anywhere near the kingdom, and the game gave me no chance to refuse to convert.
Had I not lost "Crusader", I likely would not have noticed being mid-invasion and such.
Is this a new bug?
Why would my character convert without my say so? I know there are a lot of things we cannot control in this game, but I thought I would at least be offered an option.
I'm trying to like this game, but it becomes harder with every weird event like this.

edit: went back and checked, nearest Lollards had been in Northern Italy while character's kingdom is Scotland.
EVERYTHING in Britannia was Catholic, after the change, nearly 1/3 was suddenly Lollardy, and that in a blob pattern at best.

It's no fun when they change faith. I think sometimes they do it to annoy me:
One vassal wasnt on the council and the opinion was -50 or so and she switched.

When I checked on her char. and personality etc. I understood why.
I think only one triggers many others 'cos its in their personality.
Maybe murder one who has this behavior before they create a faith havoc.

Other vassals switch like a plague. Maybe it got to do with popular opinion?

Takes a long time to get them back: try 'Demand Conversion' on the char. Or Sway, takes years...
Even worse, if I am a Child: You cant Sway and that means no income from Church.

If you have a SKILLED priest you could change the country faith.
Thats the middle icon on the Council Tab. If he aint it takes +20 years or so.

This could happen on ck2, if somebody converts you or your ruler converts. No message or anything, the only way you knew was because on ck2 the UI would change colour.

There should be some kind of message explaining this, thats the real bug.

You cannot force convert rulers anymore. They removed this in 1.1 (according to the patch notes). If your ruler lost a Holy war, then you would have been replaced. Did this grant you any special trait, like Heresiarch? Maybe you just triggered the AI event for Heresies by some weird glitch or your heir was of another religion. I had this a few times in cases where my heir died of disease or was killed in battle and his married of sister inherited unexpectedly.

Thank you for the input, I've just had to reload (good thing I wasn't playing Ironman >.>)
1) It was the character I was playing as that converted that was at issue. Had it just been vassals, even powerful vassals, I would have figured that's just how the game goes and tried to deal with it (40 Learning lifestyle makes that a lot easier, too).
2) This is in CK3.
3) My character was not involved in a Holy War at the time. No trait was granted, only Crusader was taken away. I did not check to see if heir changed religion, several counties across Britannia did.
4) No one had just died within the kingdom.

There is a stress event, one of the choices makes you convert to a random faith, heresy or even different religion (like Karaism).

I'm playing as Byzantine at the moment, and during a stress event, I converted to Kabarism(Judaism). Make sure you read the tool tips before clicking.

Again, there was nothing to click on, no event, no markers, nothing popped up.
The only notification I received was that my character had lost "Crusader" and then I saw he was a Lollard.
I can only think it must be a bug, but I'm not signing up for Paradox forums.

Lollardy in Spain? Can you believe it?
Im gonna start check on the FAITH/RELIGION of close relatives of my VASSALS.
Maybe they are cause of the cluster-bang.

Im swaying for years on end.
And when your vassal dies and a heir comes in you can start all over.
I really dunno how to fix it. Murder the whole family and relations etc etc?

The Church wont give enough Gold income too ços its a different FAITH/RELIGION?.

====================
On a sidenote:
I could understand that a KING would change his RELIGION.
He is powerfull and has the authority.
But A VASSAL w/o any TITLES or whatsoever...
I just dont get it, shouldnt it be a crime or something; PRISON?

====================
PARADOX!
FIX HINT:
Let the VASSAL give you a hunch BEFORE he gonna/wanna change RELIGION.
And he asks you something in return: GOLD or a hook. Whatever!

If you decline then you are in the situation we are now IG.
You all understand now that this option is only possible AFTER they changed.
So IMO, this option; it must be available BEFORE they change.
