Gamebreaking Checksum Problem, HELP
Hello, me and my friend picked up this game a couple of days ago and played online together. When I launched today I assume there was a new update and now we can't play together, actually I cannot play online at all. My checksum is for some reason 4032, and all the others and my friends is 260a. Both have the version 1.1.1. This a major problem, I have tried to reinstall the game and all that basic stuff, anyone who could give advice on what to do? We have no mods installed. Thanks

Make sure you don't have debug mode on. Check your launch arguments. My issue when a similar thing happened was that even though it wasn't working, having -debug_mode in the launch arguments was affecting my checksum.

Thanks for the tip, but now the checksum turned into b0a8. It changed but not to anything that works. The thing I did was that I put "-debug_mode" in the launch options, because when there's no text there the checksum is as before; 4032 .

Hmm... If you don't have any mods and you've done a clean reinstall, unfortunately I don't know what else might be the matter. Hopefully someone else will have another angle to attack this from.

Yeah I've asked in all sorts of forums, most advices are the same about verifying game files which I've done x couple of times, but it seems as if no one else has this specific problem. Thanks for the tip anyway

damn, yeah it sucks, glad to hear that I'm not the only one tho..(but sory for you ofc). Yeah I tried to find help on both reddit and paadox forums but no one is really able to give a good enough advice. I feel like the devs of the game are like the last resort here, but nice to hear that you're also looking for a solution!

Paradox replied quickly and it helped me:

If you are in debug mode, that changes the checksum - you'll need to remove that launch option.

otherwise Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

All the best!

Oh my oh my, I got the exact same email because I also opened a ticket and now it seems to work for me as well! Thanks for the added support and glad they could help at last. It was quite a simple solution but still weird why it even occured, but I sure hope someone else who gets this problem can find our efforts to fix this helpful in the future! Have fun playing Big Mama
