What is the meaning of the red flashing borders?
I haven't seen it before this patch. Not at war either.

maybe the ruler of that part of the realm is at war or dealing with a peasant uprising, if thats the case, if you zoom out, the color of the part of the realm should be a bit darkened

I think it's a bug that came in with 1.1 I've noticed the blue border to show my wartime allies sometimes stays after the war has ended and won't go away until I restart the game

The red glowing/pulsing borders are definitely from when you are at war with the realm.
Blue borders and different land shading means an internal conflict.

There are some more indicators, like when you have "recently acquired land", i think this has a thicker internal border as well.

I prefer to think of it as a lovely work of stained glass art.

Now some of my territories have a very thick white line around them, I wish it would explain what that means:/

I think the lines are bugged. They were supposed to represent something at one point but got stuck afterwards

I've noticed some red lines around impassable tiles after the recent patch. Is that what you're talking about?

Not sure what's going on with the other stuff, but purple seems to indicate war against their liege. Everytime I looked at one of those they were attackers in either a liberty war or a war against the tyranny of ... .

It's crazy that nobody knows. It's a game of territories after all :D

Issues currently under investigation:

[Borders] Border Highlight may persist even if province should no longer be highlighted.
[Buildings] Hall of Heroes special building may multiply upon adopting Feudalism.
[Steam Big Picture] Steam Big Picture mode may cause hangs on boot.
[Stability] Adding a space into pet names may cause a crash.
