Is this the hardest paradox game?
As in to learn how the game works?

No it is not, unless you go full hardcore RP style, then we could argue it being one of the hardets.

Not really... only if you purely play in a gamey way and exploit.. the games are so different and how you play is also different... I reckon most people here could fight over what each game was about.. I swear I have heard people think CK series are a game about blobbing and running a "kingdom" and not as I think, a dynastic dating simulator...

Never really played CK2, more than just a few hours. I wanted to get in on the ground floor of CK3 though, so I watched all the episodes of the live stream and the videos leading up to release. I think I get all the concepts. Starting a new game with no help feels daunting, though. I don't even begin to know how to analyze the game state and formulate and implement a strategy. Its going to be ugly for awhile.

HOI is pretty hard. And this is why i buy CK3. Never played any of the CK games before.

Haha, that's perfectly fair. It's quite a meaty game. My advice if you're interested is to wait for gameplay footage from CK3 specifically and watch someone play through the tutorial period of the game. If you feel you have a grasp on it at that point, give it a spin for yourself.

Hoi3 > Vic2 > Hoi4 > EU4 = Stellaris > CK2 > CK3
they made it quite easy with the suggestions and removal of ships and the better UI
good advice from the World's Coolest Old Guy Who's Also Everywhere, just wait for actual playthroughs of the game to come out, thats how i got into and learned paradox games

Looks like it is easier than CK2 & Europa Universalis but who knows
Hard to say when veterans like SIMO or Spiff play the game early.

At first EU4 was an easy game to understand, but after not playing it for years I saw a video of the game with all the DLC's active, and I was intimidated by all the new stuff in the game. I'm not used to CK games, but there seems to be a lot of mechanics in that game. So I guess this game will be more difficult than EU4 was to begin with, and also more difficult than Stellaris. But I find the HOI games to be the most difficult games of them all.

HoI is pretty easy if you play it in a gamey way.. it is first hard when you do silly stuff like I do :D
But seriously... it is not comparable, since HoI has its main focus on warfare, CK does not

Seriously... Victoria II is the hardest, then it is CK2, EU4, HOI4 and finally Stellaris. The more mechanics the game has, the harder to learn it is.

I think maybe Vicky, EU, CK/HOI and then Stellaris (we seem to agree that steallaris is easy)

But it all depends on how people play the game and their goals.. Thus why CK is not that hard, once you understand basics, you can "exploit" your way to whatever goal, you can´t do that to the same extend in HoI or EU

Funny. Folks who play Vic like to claim it's the hardest game to learn. It does have some unique systems but really, it's not that hard at all. And the AI is really, really bad too. My guess is that any total PDS noob would find Stellaris the easiest because it is a 4x game but maybe EU4 to be the hardest. HOI4 and CK2 next with Vic before Imperator. But, that's just like my opinion man. ;)

Unpopular opinion but I think AGEod's 'Pride of Nations' is a much better Vic-style game.

No.. I rather think that it instead have to do with how you play and what you play.. Again we could make Vic the easiets (if I play the right nations and understand basics) but I still think it is harder for the avarage person. (not for me)

Stellaris is easy for almost anyone to get into and once you have the base understanding, you will steam roll everything. Even with the endgame crisis, it is not an issue. But again as I said.. it depends on how you play.. If you exploit galore in CK series, then that might be pretty easy, if you don´t care about dynasty/character RP etc.. then it is super easy..
