Crusader Kings III

[Thoughts?] What to do after becoming an emperor?
FIrst time CK player here. I started from an Irish lord and now is the emperor over Britain. But I find myself lacking interest to continue this campaign. I can surely try conquer France and beyond. But I'm still many generations away from getting those single heir laws. What's the point of conquering more lands if I'll lose it again and again upon death?

The only interesting objective I can think of is to try marring my family into other dynasties to build my dynasty legacy. But even that has limitations as the game doesn't allow interaction with people too far away.

I'm curious do you guys usually start a new campaign at this point?

Conquer Africa or East Asia. Adapt to any culture and religion of them and bring it back to your empire and convert it. Every non believer has to die.

Become the God. Own every single county, and have your own religion that every single county follows. The world is your oyster; make your own fork. Every single governor (if there are any) must be of your dynasty. That's the only goal to fight for in this game.
I can relate to the OP. When you get a large empire it feels like there's nothing to do anymore. I mean there is, but the challenge is gone at this point.

I am currently an emperor of france which comprises italy as well, just conquered iberia from the umeyyads. Found a totally gamey religion with the most optimal tenets too.

Probably I should start role playing this, as in playing from the perspective of the current character traits rather than what I had in mind.
Try to get a second empire ;)
Trying to spread a new religion that you created is quite fun, also for an Emperor.
Try and get the ugliest family you can, while having the 'beautiful' trait.
Ck3 has no win conditions. It's a sandbox game. You make your own goals. If you really can't think of anything to do, looking at achievements and working through them should keep you busy.
Become a cannibal and eat your foes.
I'd say doing a Henry VIII.

Reform your religion "divorse" your wives and procreate around.

What could go wrong?

At its core, CK3 is really a role playing game. Its about putting yourself in the varying relevent title roles and playing them out. Becoming an Emperor/Empress isn't particularly difficult. In most instances it will be a short game if you start out with the limited goal of becoming Emperor/Empress in a singular region. I like to think that no matter how the game goes, the end game is always having your dynasty reach the year 1463, as opposed to simply becoming an Emperor/Empress.

My personal goal in every game is primarily to role play my titles to the best of my ability and to eventually control as many kingdoms and Empires as I possibly can before 1463. Although it may seem like the game gets easier in terms of war, it does present a greater challenge in terms of the grander scheme of delegating the varying titles and authorities, and managing conflicting religions, cultures, and personalities as your power, influence and Empire grows. There will always be another Emperor to outsmart, and another Empire to conquer. There are bound to be challenges along the way. It won't always be a cakewalk to 1463 if you pursue the ultimate goal of becoming the ultimate Emperor to rule over the medieval world.

Agreed. My only issue is that before having the single heir law, I have to murder/disinherit my children to avoid splitting up. That doesn't feel like role playing in particular.

This deserves its own thread. I'd love to see more of your brave quest!
