no until random emperor non orthodox become emperor, just keep murder them, make them unstable
Short reign debuff so powerful on the early game (you always get 95 95 scheme) they will going to war or they will going to chaos, it drain them money and them forces, so weakened them is best option to do it
Just believe, i make 2 empire collapse as Persian Empire (abbasid and byzantium)
even i do roman empire in my game, i just keep murder them emperor

Claim on them, uh idk you just can do invade kingdom just that, or just get one of them family as claim but the problem there is another byzantium empire again
