Bug and Crash Reporting Guideline (FAQ Inside)
If you encounter any issue, bug, or crash while playing, let us know in the Bugs and Crashes Report Thread.

While we’re always checking on Steam Discussions, you can also report it through our Discord server, as it is easier to keep track of your reports and update you about the progress. Also, you’re always welcome to reach out to us for help through our mail support@stairwaygames.com!

What information do we need?

  1. Details of how the issue happened or what happened before you encountered them
  2. If you’re playing on PC, please include your PC specs.
  3. Your game platform and game version
  4. Input mode: K&M or Controller (Steam Deck included as controller)
  5. If your game crashed, please include your crash logs

Any screenshots, video recording, save files, and crash logs will help us understand where the issue is happening, which ultimately speeds up the process of reproducing and fixing it. Feel free to send it to our email with the subject ‘Steam Discussion - [Issue Keyword]’, they’re incredibly helpful to us!

How to find your save file on PC:
  • Open the file explorer on your PC, select Windows (C:)
  • Open the ‘Users’ folder, go to <your PC name> folder
  • Open the ‘AppData’ folder, go to ‘Local’ folder
  • Open the ‘ProjectCoral’ folder, go to ‘Saved’ folder, and go to ‘SaveGames’ folder.
  • If your game crashed, please include your crash logs

How to find your files on SteamDeck:
  • Check 'compatdata' (filepath:/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata)
  • Open the Coral Island folder with code number 1158160
  • Go to the pfx folder, then drive_c folder
  • Follow this file path to find your save file: C:\Users<your PC name>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\SaveGames
  • Follow this file path to find your crash logs: C:\Users<your PC name>\AppData\Local\ProjectCoral\Saved\Crashes (the .xml file)

Reports FAQ
  • FD3D11 Crash code
    If you encounter a crash containing this code in the crash log, please kindly check to see if you meet the system requirement to run the game, and please check if your graphic card is up to date. This crash is related to a graphic driver issue.

    Coral Island doesn’t support Integrated Graphic cards and requires a dedicated graphic card to play. Please ensure you have the compatible and latest drivers for your graphic card.

  • Cannot open the game/cannot launch the game
    If this problem occurs after game updates, try to verify your game files by following these steps: right click on Coral Island on Steam Library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.

    You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the game completely. This will not affect the save file stored in your PC.

  • Save file not synchronized
    Please make sure you are connected to the internet and please make sure your Steam cloud apps are synchronized at all times on all of your Steam apps. If this problem persists, kindly send us an email to support@stairwaygames.com and we will help you.

  • Keybinding-rebinding issue
    If you’re using Keyboard+mouse and doing a key-rebinding, sometimes a conflicting input might occur if you rebind a key to an already binded key. You can try to revert your keybind to default. If this still doesn’t work, please send us an email and we will walk you through it!
