Bug: Tourist Boat Stuck at Docks

The tourist boat is stuck at the docks. It continually triggers its engine, but seems unable to leave. The noise makes it difficult to spend any time near the docks for a prolonged period, and the bug persists when exiting/ loading the game. I could provide my save if it would help with isolating this particular bug... I'm worried it's preventing tourists from entering or leaving the island, and me from getting to talk to them as a result.

The only clue that I have is that I first noticed this the day after the second year's animal festival.

I'm having this same issue. I believe it happened at the same time OP mentioned, right after Y2 animal festival. It doesn't seem to impact gameplay (though I've never had anything in the tourist bin, so it could potentially be blocking that for people that have that feature working), but the noise is a bit annoying around the docks.

i just wanted to chime in and say i have the same issue, the tourist boat at docks never leaves, it just makes engine noises.

i'm not sure if it is consistent through all seasons, but it's happened alot.

on top of that, there's apparently a bin next to the welcome sign that is supposed to have items in it that tourists leave as a thank-you gift.

i've never been introduced to this mechanic in the game (?) and i have tried going there 5 different times and there's never been anything in it.
