Finding books for the library

I was wondering if finding books for the library is a thing in the game? I heard it was once, but they removed it to do some work on it. But, not sure if it was added back or not.

I haven't been able to find any books in some time. The library is empty. I'm assuming this will be something coming some time this year?

The reason I posted this question is due to me watching someone playing this game on youtube and they were talking and showing how they found books by digging in the sand along the beach. Later i heard that the books were a thing but then they were taken out due to the game creators wanting to do more work on them and add more writing ( or something along that line). So, i wasn't sure if it had been added back again or not. I noticed the game play video i watched was back in December.

Books and the library in general have been sidelined atm. They are being improved and re-worked and will be re-introduced into the game sometime in 2024 (probably?)

It's a bit concerning that the updated roadmap makes no mention of books. :-(
