Silver Sardine for the Alter offering. (SOLUTION)

If anyone is having a terrible time trying to catch a silver Sardine, I want to offer some encouragement. You will need a huge amount of patience and determination to catch this ultra rare fish.

I used a Tier 3 Fishing Rod with Bait. Game speed was set at 50% to maximize the time.

The location where I finally reeled one in, is the curve shaped dock, just a little below the Diving Pier fast travel point. I had been fishing here from 6:00 pm until midnight, every single night, from Summer Day 1, until Summer Day 23. That's 23 evenings in a row spent fishing for just that one "special" fish. Crazy...

Probably the worst grind I've ever experienced in twenty years as a gamer, but I got there in the end, proving that it can be done. I did however, catch nearly 200 standard quality Sardines, about 20 bronze quality Sardines, over 100 Ruby Red Dragonet, loads of miscellaneous fish, one silver quality Mackerel, and a decent haul of valuable Lobsters, so I earned a nice sum of Coral Island Dollars to lessen the pain.

So if you need a silver Sardine for the Alter, this should give you peeps some hope...

Thanks for the encouraging post! I've only been trying for 5-6 days for the elusive silver sardine, but knowing it's possible means I'll keep trying!

Appreciate the info. I don't think this is reasonable, but...ok. I tried all of my first winter to catch a hammerhead. No luck. Maybe this coming winter with a tier 3 rod? I honestly just found it terribly frustrating. I don't mind a challenge, but that kind of grinding leaves me cold. Where did you get all the bait? I have pretty much all the ore I currently need, and spider fur isn't that common a drop in the mines.

I finally got my silver sardine after five more nights of fishing. You can buy bait at the shop on the beach, although it doesn't seem to make much of a difference right now?

Your post brought me luck, I swear. I was fishing in lava for the sardines, and was looking around online for more info. Found your post, read it, and fished again, managing to bag 2 sardines in a row, after getting nothing but MACKREL.
