Fruit plants and fruit trees are completely different. Fruit plants need to be watered every day, fruit trees never need to be watered. Fruit plants die at the end of their seasons, and fruit trees just go dormant. Banana and papayas are both plants, they will need to be watered if you want to keep getting fruits.
