Can you hold your baby yet?

Its been a while since I played this game and I wanted to know if we can hold our baby yet or will we ever get to? It's frustrating to watch your spouse interact with your child from a distance. If the developers have not made it so we can hold our babies then get with it. To many of us this is important. In ever other game I've played I can interact with my baby. Do you not have the ability to fix this problem? You have certainly had enough time.
