Chime noise in town

i'm in fall year one and i keep hearing this weird chime noise while in town that doesn't seem like it's part of the music. sort of like the wind chime. i don't think it's the shop opening sound because it happens at all hours and is mostly around the fishenships/town center area.
anyone have an idea what the sound is and if it signifies something?

i don't htink it's that. i'm pretty sure iv'e heard the bell when shops open and what i'm talking about sounds more like a wind chime and plays for a few seconds

They changed the basket at the docks. Instead of there being stuff in it on the 1st and 15th of the month, now it's just random and you'll hear the chime. Run down to the docks and check the basket.

Oh fair. I've not heard anything other than the shop bells, which I figured was the 'chime' to which you were referring. Glad someone else had the correct answer for you.
