Upgrading produce underwater

I've gotten to the spot at the underwater farm, that I can upgrade my produce from the animals, but I have a problem. Eventho I have purchaced the animals they don't give bronze things I need to upgrade my animal produce. They went from normal without any stars to the very last ossium or how to spell it quality. So now I can't upgrade it - sure it's nice, but for my own sanity, I'd like for it to actually be upgraded by the Ursula looking woman at the shop.

I have tried to remove the autopetter, I've tried to not feed the pets over a period of 2 weeks. But still, they give the highest possible crops.. Sure it's nice for the sake of sales, but yeah.. Sanity is starting to dwindle behind the screen.

EDIT: Just checked, and with two osmium and a gold items, it still said I had 3/5 towards upgrading the regular quality one. So yes, anything at or above will work.

produce with bronze and better quality will work (like resonance said)

Every single thing in the game where it asks you for a certain quality, it will take that quality OR HIGHER. You don't have to stress about finding lower level items for it.

(If you're talking only about the star quality, that's right. But if you extend it to the size of ranch items, there are cases where only the small version will work, and the small ones become increasingly rare as the animal gains hearts and has a happy mood. I made a post about this issue.)

The only things the small sizes are still needed for are the achievements. The altars were changed a while back to accept the different sizes. So be super careful if you are bringing a large and small egg to donate at the same time. If you click the large egg first, it might go in the small egg slot.
