Quest: Bring Salmon to Jim at Beach Shack

Have given Jim the Salmon raw and cooked (and everyone else in Beach Shack) but does not complete quest. Is this a bug? Any suggestions and help are truly appreciated.

Yes an odd quest as Jim is trying to leave the Beach Shack at the time requested. When given he is not to impressed. Gave up with it. Same at the tree planting, I attended, thought I had talked to the major, but it says I did not. Another quest I have to leave. Just glad they are not on the main branch.

Has anyone tried the sockeye salmon just in case?

It's not to GIVE it to Jim, through the GIFT button.

It's to show up at the Beach Shack between 5pm and 8pm with a Salmon in your pocket.

Then you get the cutscene to learn the Smoked Salmon recipe.

It is also only on certain days and some other specific heart events need to have happened prior. I believe the fandom wiki has more details or there's another thread here that explains it.

Yes, this is a heart event cut scene. It's Jim's second cut scene, which means it will not trigger unless you've seen his first, even if you have the fish in your pocket and are there at the right time.
