Silly inconsistency with Lily

Much like every other townsperson has a "thing" that their personality revolves around (Raj, coffee. Eva, Baking. Rafael, catching. Etc etc) Lily's is Bonsai - it says so in her profile, and she talks about it in casual conversation.

You'd think a "Gemstone Bonsai" tree relic would floor her, no?
"Yup. Thanks" is all she says.

It's not really a "big" deal, except that this game seems to REALLY focus on player-townie relationships, and wants you to give a shat about them. So color me surprised when I got two of these badboys from a dive, and thought "Oh hey, Lily loves Bonsai stuff!" only to find she doesn't care at all. I don't care from a romantic sense (Team Eva forever) but the fact that townies interests aren't going to be consistent with....you know, common sense... then there goes all incentive to care about them outside of a Wiki page.

I get this with Alice when she constantly says she doesn't like pink but then... her bedroom at the inn is pink themed

Or Walter telling you how his wife is crazy about all things jam and when you give her some, she's just not?

I'd like to know if there are preferences for hangouts and dates, now that they've been implemented. Because the reactions to those are... varied to say the least.

I don´t know if a "gemstone" bonsai would really please Lily. Maybe she prefers some living stuff? Or something she could use for her bonsai hobby.
Also Alice prefered color: I asume she can´t tell Suki. Maybe Suki is the one, who is thinking Alice likes pink stuff. And Alice is to polite to tell her.
And don´t talk about Walter. I don´t know if he really knows anyones preferences.

So if you proceed with the story and you get to know the quirks of the townies, it all makes sense kinda.
But maybe it is just me, because i like this game so much :)
