Mayor's Hat Duplicate

So I've seen a lot of people mention that they can't pick up the mayor's hat in this quest. I actually had the opposite problem: I not only picked up the hat, I somehow picked it up twice?? So I have two of the hats and I could only give one to Connor. Now the hat just sits in my inventory - or the chest I put it in - as it can't be discarded, sold or given away. Not the end of the world as I can just chuck it in one of my spare chests to collect dust, but I am wondering if there's any way for me to remove the duplicated item - and if anyone else experienced this? xD

Complaints aside, I am absolutely in love with the game so far and I'm really glad I invested in it. :)

I have experienced this as well, found the hat and in my inventory I was given 2

Sounds like a bug plenty of space for chests however better than the opposite of not getting any it would seem lol perhaps they fixed it? Or reload the save before it saves at the end of the day. Crazy with some of the bugs in the game and sometimes the UI animations get kind of ridiculous like trying to click talk to NPCs but it keeps opening up the EVENT SHOP with this crazy SLIDING ANIMATION it gets annoying with the bouncing UI nonsense sometimes like what is with that going on lol :D
