Foraging cherries difficult now? Has spawn rate changed?

I used to find plenty of cherries each Spring, before the game updated to version 1.1

I wanted to gift a Cherry to an NPC, and as I'm playing through Spring atm, I thought no prob, that should be easy.

However, I'm now halfway through the month, I've been checking the computer every day, and not a single Cherry has spawned so far.

Does anyone know if the devs have changed the spawn rate and/or season for the Cherry that we find when foraging? It's normally found over near the lake and on the little grass paths that are found slightly west of the lake

I just foraged my first Cherry on the 17th Spring. Hard to understand why they are so rare.

Don't know about spawn rates, but I did just go through a Spring where i think I saw one cherry total, maybe two.

Why not include a cherry tree to plant on the farm? Idea for a future update.
