Impossible quests?

Just started playing this recently.

One of my first bulletin quests: grow a peony and give it to Ling. Quest was due on Saturday Day 6 of Spring. I never met Ling, and could not find her at her house to deliver the flower. So I started looking through all the "?" on the map and none of them were her. After a whole in game day of searching I found info online that she doesn't even show up on the island until after day 8 of Spring???

Why am I getting quests that aren't possible? Seems like something that needs fixed.
